Restructuring of the library’s staircase (no access to the periodicals reading room, February 2019)
We have just been informed that restructuring of the library’s staircase is about to start.
Background: we want to reduce the noise on Level 2 to minimalize disturbance in the reading rooms.
After restructuring, all users will be able to access Level 3 without crossing the reading rooms.
At the same time, the fire doors’ mechanism will be adapted to reduce automatic opening.
For this reason, there is no access to the periodicals reading room from 04.02.2019 until the beginning of March!
This means that as of Monday, 04.02., there is no access to the tables, shelves and the media library in this reading room!
Please use other reading rooms during this time!
* All users can “order” and pick up any items located in the periodicals reading room at the loan desk.
* Daily newspapers can be found on Level 2 in the new building (“Cube”).
We hope that this measure affects you only marginally and rely, as always, on your underestanding.
